According to black Dutch researcher Egmond Codfried and author of the book “Belle van Zuylen’s forgotten grandmother” there was Moorish nobility in Europe, but there history and images were later carefully tucked away. His claims are controversial, and of course not accepted by European historians and the common man. Genre/Form: History: Additional Physical Format: Print version: Scott, S.P. (Samuel Parsons), History of the Moorish Empire in Europe. Philadelphia.

The Moors were the Muslim inhabitants of the Maghreb, the Iberian Peninsula, Sicily, and Malta during the Middle Moors initially were the indigenous Maghrebine Berbers. The name was later also applied to Arabs.. Moors are not a distinct or self-defined people, and the Encyclopædia Britannica observed that "The term 'Moors' has no real ethnological value.". Thus the glory of the Moorish civilization in Spain was gradually extinguished. Its contributions to Western Europe and especially to Spain were almost incalculable—in art and architecture, medicine and science, and learning (especially ancient Greek learning). See S. Lane-Poole, The Moors .
